Collin College's Men's Tennis finished No. 15 in the nation after a hard-fought season.
Chris Doyal and John Edwards reached the high-water mark for the team with a win in flight No. 2 of quarterfinals at this year's National Championships.
"We had some bad breaks with the draws (flight No. 1 doubles, and flight No. 2 singles) that we just couldn't overcome, but I am proud of these men," Coach Marty Berryman said.
Also of note from Championship Weekend was recognition by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association of Patrick Nguyen as National Junior College Assistant Coach of the Year.
Berryman went on to say he is excited about the men's and women's teams for next year, including the college's recruitment.
"We will be back in the thick of things at 2020 nationals," he said.
Berryman noted that several players are signing with four-year universities to continue their academic and athletic careers. Edwards is signing with The University of Texas at Dallas. Dheemant Nathani has signed with The University of Texas at Tyler. Juan Carlos Garrido has numerous offers including one from St. Thomas.
