The Collin College Lady Cougars will play in the NJCAA Region V Championship game against South Plains College, Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. Watch it live on www.tsrnsports.com.

Collin's women beat Odessa College in a 70-65 nail-biter, March 6. Much as they had in their first game of the tournament, the Lady Cougars rallied in the fourth quarter for the win. The Lady Cougars outscored the Lady Wranglers by 12 points in the final frame, putting Odessa in the position of needing to foul late.

Awatea Leach, Cardrina Nolen, and Destiny Thurman each stepped to the stripe and sank a pair of free throws to put the game out of reach for Odessa. The team had a good free throw night overall, shooting 80.8 percent as a team. They shot 42.6 percent from the field for the game, just a hair under their average for conference play.

Thurman led scoring for the Lady Cougars with 16 points, including a pair of three-pointers. She was followed by Lucy Ibeh, who had 14 points, six rebounds and two steals. Shala Robinson rounded out the top three scorers with 10 points.
