The Collin College Lady Cougars' amazing post-season run ended March 7 with the team battling to within single digits in the final two minutes of their 74-64 regional championship game loss to South Plains College.

The Lady Texans surged ahead in the third quarter after Collin College kept the score tight in the first two periods. The Lady Cougars put up more shots in the game than SPC, but those shots did not fall as consistently has they had in recent games. The team shot 31 percent from the field and 14 percent from the three-point line. The Lady Cougars were stellar from the free throw line, sinking 19-21.

There was hope for a comeback well into the fourth quarter, with Collin College drawing to within seven points with 1:58 remaining. Collin was able to put up a few more points, hanging with the Lady Texans continued attack even as SPC missed free throw opportunities of their own, but time drained away.

Lucy Ibeh led Collin College in scoring with 19 points while recording two blocks and 18 total rebounds. Shala Robinson followed with 18 points. Destiny Thurman rounded out the top three with 14 points.
