Collin College's men's and women's basketball teams each lost a pair of games to tough North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) opponents in the past week of play. Both also picked up a win on the road.
Weatherford College came in swinging in the Collin's men's first loss of the season – 83-70. The Coyotes went up by 17 points a little over 12 minutes into the first half, thanks largely to a poor shooting night by the Cougars. The team shot just 31.9 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from behind the three-point line. While Collin was able to pull within three points late in the first half, it didn't make up the deficit entirely.

The Lady Cougars also fell to the Lady 'Yotes 90-76. While the first half was evenly matched for the two teams, a second-half surge by the visitors put the game out of reach late in the game. The Collin women had an off shooting night, with just 35.2 percent of their shots falling from the field and 16.7 percent from beyond the arch.
Skye Duggan put up 23 points to lead the team, followed by Beyonce' Lane with 18 and Nikki Green with 13. Green had two blocks, and Dustie Obah had three steals in the game.
The Lady Cougars picked up a comfortable 81-59 road win over Grayson College a few days later. Leading throughout, Collin had a much better shooting night, with 48.4 percent sinking from the field and 50 percent from downtown. Duggan led scoring again with 21 points, followed by Mykaila Pickard with 15 and Green with 14. Green had a pair of blocks in the game.
The men's team had a tighter game against Grayson but came out on top 80-74. Washington again led scoring for the Cougars with 19 points. Achebe followed with 17 points, a block, and a steal. Wilson rounded out the top three scorers with 15 points.
