Collin College's tennis teams rank among the best in the nation according to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Coaches Poll released Feb. 3.
The men's team is ranked fifth nationally and second in Region II. The team ended last season ranked sixth in the nation. Click here for this year's men's rankings.
The women's team is ranked eighth in the nation and third regionally. The team closed out the 2021 season at 11thnationally. Click here for this year's women's rankings.
"We are excited to see the preseason rankings," Coach Charity Andrews said. "Both teams know we have a lot of work to do to keep our rankings and to move up. We have a great group of student athletes this year who are ready for the challenge and give 100 percent for themselves and for this team.
"As their coach, I am excited to see each of them growing to their potential on the tennis court in the next four months."
The ITA National Ranking Committees compile NJCAA rankings. NJCAA National Ranking Committees for men and women are made up of three region chairs and a national chair.
