The Collin College Men's Basketball team (17-5, 5-2) defeated Weatherford College 73-58 on Feb. 7 at Weatherford.
KEY PLAYERS
• David Chong led the team with 18 points and recorded his first double-double with 10 rebounds. He shot 3-of-6 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, and went 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. He added four assists.
• Kevin Paul contributed 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. He added four rebounds.
• Jayden Ramnanan finished with 13 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. He added three assists and three steals.
• Cortlin Siska provided 10 points off the bench on 5-of-8 shooting, along with five rebounds and three assists.
• Brandt Evanson added 10 points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting performance, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
• Tyreese Perry-Huggins contributed three rebounds and two assists.
• David Emelife added three rebounds and two assists.
• Chris Jones Jr. scored two points on a perfect 1-of-1 shooting night.
GAME NOTES
• David Chong recorded an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double. He also tallied one steal, extending his streak of at least one steal per game to 13 straight games. Chong has had a steal in all but one of his 20 games played. He also posted a career-high in rebounds in a single game (10).
• Jayden Ramnanan recorded three steals, his third straight game with at least one steal.
• Brandt Evanson set his career-high in points in a single game (10).
• Fabian Pommells tied his career-high for steals in a single game (2).
As a team, the Cougars:
• Shot 47.7% from the field (21-of-44).
• Collin went 24-of-32 from the free-throw line (75.0%).
• Had four players finish in double figures.
• Totaled 16 assists and nine steals. The Cougars have had a steal in every game they've played this season.
