The Collin College men's basketball team (18-5, 6-2) defeated Southwestern Christian College 74-69 on Feb. 9 at SWCC.
KEY PLAYERS
• Kevin Paul recorded his fourth double-double of the season, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 7-of-13 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. He added four assists and three blocks in a strong all-around performance.
• David Emelife also posted his sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds (eight defensive, four offensive). He shot 7-of-13 from the floor and added two steals and one block.
• Cortlin Siska contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and a team-high six assists off the bench.
• Jayden Ramnanan added 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
• Brandt Evanson scored eight points, knocking down 2-of-4 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds, one steal and one block.
• Fabian Pommells was perfect from the field, going 2-of-2 including 1-of-1 from three-point range for five points.
• Tyreese Perry-Huggins grabbed six rebounds and recorded one block.
• David Chong contributed two points and one assist.
GAME NOTES
• Jayden Ramnanan recorded two steals, his fourth game in a row with at least one steal per game.
• Kevin Paul recorded his fourth double-double of the season. He had three blocks, bringing his season total to 33. He also had his fourth game in a row with at least one steal per game. He also tied his career-high seven rebounds in a single game (7).
• Cortlin Siska scored 10 points, his second game in a row with 10 points scored.
• Tyreese Perry-Huggins had a career-high six defensive rebounds.
• David Emelife had his second-highest scoring performance this season (18 pts), his record is 21 points vs Grayson on Feb. 4. He also recorded his sixth double-double of the season.
• Brandt Evanson recorded his second-straight game with a steal, and he also recorded his first block of the season.
As a team, the Cougars:
• Shot 45.2% from the field (28-of-62).
• Controlled the glass with 41 total rebounds, including 10 offensive boards.
• Recorded seven blocks and seven steals defensively. The Cougars have had at least one steal in all games played this season.
• Had two players finish with double-doubles.
• Had four players finish in double digits for scoring.
