Chong, Ramnanan Combine for 40 Points in Win Over Hill

The Collin College men's basketball team (20-6, 8-3) defeated Hill College 73-51 on Feb. 21 at Collin College.

KEY PLAYERS
David Chong led the team with 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. He added six rebounds, two assists and a team-high three steals.
Jayden Ramnanan finished with 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, knocking down 3-of-8 from beyond the arc and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. He also contributed five rebounds, a team-high five assists and three steals.
Kevin Paul recorded eight points on 3-of-5 shooting and a perfect 2-of-2 from the line. He added a double-digit rebounding effort with 10 boards (one offensive, nine defensive), along with five assists and two blocks.
Tyreese Perry-Huggins added six points on 2-of-4 shooting and 2-of-5 from the free throw line. He pulled down 10 rebounds (seven offensive) and dished out two assists.
Cortlin Siska provided seven points off the bench on 3-of-9 shooting, including 1-of-4 from three-point range, while adding two rebounds and one steal.
Fabian Pommells chipped in five points, going 1-of-5 from the field and 1-of-5 from three-point range, and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He also recorded one assist.
Chris Jones Jr. contributed two points and one rebound in reserve minutes.
Brandt Evanson added two points on a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line, along with one assist and one steal.

GAME NOTES
• David Chong scored a career-high 25 points and tallied three steals. Chong has had at least one steal in all but two of his 25 games played.
Jayden Ramnanan recorded three steals, marking his seventh consecutive game with at least one steal. Ramnanan has had at least one steal in all but five of his 26 games played.
Kevin Paul and Tyreese Perry-Huggins each recorded 10 rebounds to lead the team. Paul also had two blocks and has recorded at least one block in all but five of his 25 games played.

As a team, the Cougars:
• Controlled the glass with 42 total rebounds (14 offensive, 28 defensive).
• Shot 38.1% from the field (24-of-63), 31.3% from three-point range (10-of-32) and 75.0% from the free throw line (15-of-20).
• Finished with 16 assists on 24 made field goals and recorded nine steals and two blocks defensively.
• Had two players finish in double figure-scoring, Chong (25) and Ramnanan (15).
