Men’s Basketball Earns No. 2 Seed in Region V Tournament

The Collin College men's basketball team finished second in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC), earning the No. 2 seed in the North Division for the Region V Tournament. The Cougars enter the tournament with a 22-7 overall record and a 10-4 record in conference play.

Collin will face No. 3 seed New Mexico Junior College from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) in the quarterfinal round. The Cougars previously defeated New Mexico Junior College 86–77 on Nov. 29 when the Thunderbirds were ranked No. 22 in the nation. New Mexico enters the tournament currently ranked No. 15 in the NJCAA Division I poll.

Hosted by Odessa College, the Region V Tournament will take place March 11–14 and features the top four men's and women's teams from both the NTJCAC and the WJCAC competing for a berth in the NJCAA Division I Basketball Championships later this month.
