No. 19 Cougars Top Weatherford in Conference Opener

The No. 19 Collin College women's basketball team (11-3, 1-0) defeated Weatherford College, 109-75, in their conference opener on Jan. 7. at Collin. 

 KEY PLAYERS

Gabby Morales led all scorers with 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. She added four assists, three steals.
Ella Macleod finished with 31 points (career-high), shooting 10-of-16 from the field, knocking down two three-pointers, and going 9-of-11 at the line. She contributed five rebounds.
Sara Basaran posted a strong all-around performance with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists, while shooting 3-of-8 from the field
Taliah Martin recorded 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting, added nine rebounds
Olivia Grgicevich Lassey added six points, four assists, and two rebounds
Abby Sokolova provided an efficient scoring boost off the bench, finishing with six points on a perfect 2-of-2 shooting, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc
Mufaro Mapengo chipped in four points, three assists, and three steals
Trinity Thomas contributed five rebounds, three assists, and two points
Maya Fowler recorded two points, three assists, and one rebound
Georgia Alford scored two points while adding a steal.

Olivia Grgicevich Lassey
• Logged her fifth consecutive game with at least one block.
• Recorded a steal for the fourth consecutive game.

• Ranks fourth in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio.
