The No. 19 Collin College women's basketball team (11-3, 1-0) defeated Weatherford College, 109-75, in their conference opener on Jan. 7. at Collin.
KEY PLAYERS
• Gabby Morales led all scorers with 34 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. She added four assists, three steals.
• Ella Macleod finished with 31 points (career-high), shooting 10-of-16 from the field, knocking down two three-pointers, and going 9-of-11 at the line. She contributed five rebounds.
• Sara Basaran posted a strong all-around performance with 10 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists, while shooting 3-of-8 from the field
• Taliah Martin recorded 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting, added nine rebounds
• Olivia Grgicevich Lassey added six points, four assists, and two rebounds
• Abby Sokolova provided an efficient scoring boost off the bench, finishing with six points on a perfect 2-of-2 shooting, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc
• Mufaro Mapengo chipped in four points, three assists, and three steals
• Trinity Thomas contributed five rebounds, three assists, and two points
• Maya Fowler recorded two points, three assists, and one rebound
