The No. 22 Collin College women's basketball team (20-6, 10-3) fell to No. 17 McLennan Community College, 59-56, on Feb. 25 in Waco.
KEY PLAYERS
• Ella Macleod led the team with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. She also added two rebounds and two assists.
• Sara Basaran finished with 15 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting performance, including a perfect 1-of-1 from three-point range and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. She also recorded two steals, two blocks, one rebound and one assist.
• Gabby Morales contributed nine points on 4-of-7 shooting and 1-of-2 from the free throw line. She added two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
• Mufaro Mapengo totaled eight points on 2-of-4 shooting and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. She also dished out a team-high five assists, while adding three rebounds and one steal.
• Taliah Martin added eight points on 4-of-7 shooting and pulled down three rebounds (one offensive). She also recorded one block.
GAME NOTES
• Trinity Thomas recorded one steal, her fourth consecutive game with at least one. Thomas has at least one steal in all but six of her 26 games played.
• Ella Macleod finished with 16 points, her third straight game with 15 or more. She was perfect from the free-throw line and recorded her ninth game this season shooting 100% from the line.
• Sara Basaran recorded two steals and two blocks. Basaran has at least one steal in all but six of her 26 games played.
As a team, the Cougars:
