The Collin College women's volleyball team defeated Cisco College 3-1 (25-22, 26-24, 19-25, 26-24) on Sept. 10 to improve to 2-1 in conference play and move into a tie for third place.
KEY PLAYERS
• Fr. OH Andrea Ortega led all players with a match-high 14 kills—her second straight match in double digits—while hitting .212. She added a block assist and a dig to finish with a team-best 14.5 points. Her third match this season with 10 or more kills, tying her career high and the season high of 14 kills. She ranks second in conference in kills.
• Fr. OH Maya Nalls recorded 13 kills on 26 swings to hit .231—her third match this season with double-digit kills. She added a block assist and a dig, totaling 13.5 points on the night. She ranks fourth in conference in kills.
• So. MB Tylisee Brinkley contributed seven kills. She added one solo block and three block assists to finish with 9.5 points.
• Fr. OH Amaya Carter notched seven kills and added a service ace, a dig, and a solo block to total 9.0 points. She ranks third in the conference in service aces.
• Fr. OH Christian Duncan chipped in two kills, four total blocks (including one solo), and a dig for a well-rounded 6.5-point performance. She ranks second in the conference in solo blocks.
• Fr. OH Lauren Larkins tallied two kills, three digs, and a solo block for 5.0 points. She played a balanced role across all rotations and ranks first in the conference in solo blocks.
• Fr. OH Kylie Elmore added two kills, one service ace, and a dig while hitting .200. She contributed 3.0 points in the match.
• So. DS Isabella Foutz posted a kill on two attempts to hit .500. She added 20 assists and a service ace, along with three digs.
• So. S Parker Kimbal ran the offense with 16 assists—her seventh match with double-digit assists. She also tallied a kill, a service ace, and nine digs.
• Fr. DS Ashley Layman served one ace and added nine digs, as well as 27 receptions with only two errors.
• Fr. LIB Emily Torres anchored the back row with 16 digs, two assists, and two service aces (her third consecutive match with two or more service aces) to finish with 17 points.
MATCH NOTES

The Cougars (5-9, 2-1) will travel to Southwestern Christian College (0-13, 0-3) on Saturday, Sept. 13, to face the Rams at 1 p.m., followed by a non-conference match against Richland College (6-7) on Monday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m.
The Cougars return home on Wednesday, Sept. 17, to face McLennan Community College (3-5, 1-2) in a matchup between two first-year programs.
